Bowman Football looks a little different in 2026.
For the first time, Bowman is bringing current college prospects and NFL players together in one release. That means collectors can chase 1st Bowmans of future NFL talent alongside rookies, veterans, autographs, Chrome cards and plenty of familiar Bowman inserts. Here’s what you need to know about 2026 Bowman Football.
College + NFL in One Product
The biggest change this year is the checklist. 2026 Bowman Football features a 200-card NFL base set with 100 veterans and 100 rookies, plus a separate 200-card Bowman Prospect set featuring college players from 88 schools. That makes this a much larger overall checklist than recent Bowman Chrome University Football releases, which featured 200-card base sets focused on the college game.
For collectors, it essentially puts two sides of football prospecting into one product: established and incoming NFL talent on one side and the next wave of college prospects on the other.
Paper AND Chrome
Unlike recent Bowman University releases built around Chrome, 2026 Bowman Football mixes the traditional Bowman paper and Chrome experience.
NFL players appear in the 200-card paper base set, with matching Base Chrome versions to chase. College players make up the Paper Prospects checklist, with Chrome Prospect versions available as well. So whether you prefer building paper sets or chasing Chrome parallels, there’s plenty of both throughout the product.
Chase the 1st Bowmans
This is Bowman, so the 1st Bowman is still one of the biggest reasons to rip.
The college Prospect checklist features emerging players who have not yet received NFL rookie designation, with eligible players receiving the iconic 1st Bowman logo. That gives collectors the chance to grab cards of college stars early, before their NFL rookie cards ever hit the market.
The college checklist includes names like CJ Carr, Bryce Underwood, LaNorris Sellers, Caden Durham, Bear Bachmeier, Josh Hoover and plenty more.
NFL Rookies, Veterans & Red Rookies
The NFL side brings another major group of chases. The 200-card NFL checklist includes 100 rookies alongside 100 veterans, giving collectors everything from current stars to the newest NFL class.
2026 Bowman Football also introduces Bowman Red Rookie Redemption to football. These special short-print Red Rookie Cards can earn FanCash rewards based on career milestones, beginning with NFL Rookie of the Year honors. It adds a completely different type of rookie chase to the product, especially for collectors willing to make an early call on this year’s rookie class.
Autographs to Chase
There’s plenty of ink throughout 2026 Bowman Football, with autographs covering college prospects, NFL rookies, veterans and legends. Chrome Prospect Autographs bring the classic Bowman prospecting feel to the college checklist, while Future Script features autographs from current college talent.
There are also 1955 All-American Autograph Variations, featuring legends like Dan Marino, Steve Young, Ray Lewis, Emmitt Smith and Barry Sanders in a throwback Bowman design.
And yes, Hobby Boxes deliver two autographs per box!
Inserts & Case Chases
Bowman favorites return alongside several football-focused designs. Collectors can look for Bowman Spotlights, Crystallized, Etched-In Glass, Gen Next, Young Kings, Rockstar Rookies, Anime and GPK cards throughout the release. Between the insert lineup, Chrome parallels, numbered cards, autographs, 1st Bowmans and Red Rookies, there are plenty of different directions to chase.
The Bottom Line
2026 Bowman Football feels like a major reset for Bowman’s football lineup. Instead of choosing between college prospecting and NFL collecting, this release puts both into the same product. You can pull a 1st Bowman of a college player still building his draft stock, an NFL rookie, a veteran star and Chrome color all from the same release. For collectors who enjoyed Bowman University but also wanted NFL rookies and stars in the mix, this is the biggest change.
